The December gig details are as follows: 12th December at the B2 with the mighty Ostracoda and Adrenochrome. Both Awesome. Check them out. Merry fucking Christmas.

Much like London busses (or skillful and considerate lesbians) you wait ages for a Dragline gig and then 2 come at once. We will be playing possibly the best gig of our lives at the B2 (at the Brickmakers on Sprowston Road) on the 14th of this month. You may already know about this due to posters and fliers. There will be two wonderful support bands (or "special guests") in the form of:

The Worldonfire, an eclectic post-hardcore outfit from Harlow in faakin' Essex. They can be checked out at the obvious myspace location.

Also, Emotastic Glassjaw-reminding-me-of Kings Lynn upstarts Deaf Havana will open the night. They fucking rock, and can also be checked out at the etc. Entry is a mere £2. Yes, £2. £2. That's 66.66 recurring pence a band, and we're worth a quid at least. Bargain.

In other news, the Withered E.P. is available at Revolution Records, Gigs and us.

We will also be playing the B2 again in mid-December. Details to follow.

Oh yeah. We've written 2 new songs. You'll like them.

And finally, I've worked out how to do linking. Therefore you can visit our MySpace page and listen to rough demos of a couple of newies at here.

Here's Fun. By some strange and wonderful set of circumstances it has come to pass that we are, in fact, third on the bill at the Waterfront on Friday the 11th (not the 8th, as stated below). Hey ho, it'll still be awesome. So, to reitterate, the gig is on FRIDAY the 11TH of AUGUST and we'll be on 2nd. Tickets from us or from them. See you there...

Well, in the words of that miserable fat bald guy from Staind "It's been a while". Thankfully things in the Dragline camp are much more positive than his bands sub-emo-by-numbers warblings. The wheels have been turning, and the Dragline machine is finally ready to issue forth streaming arcs of sticky music juice in the form of the now completed, arted and officially titled "Withered e.p.". At the moment the only way to get one is to contact us and buy one direct or come to a gig (more on that later). We're going to set up some form of funky online purchasing thing, but, for now, old fashioned e-mail or personal contact is the only way to get your hands on one. Watch this space.

Many thanks to everyone who came to the last gig at the Ferryboat. We've had some great times there, both playing and watching, and it was a huge honour to be the last band to play on it's illustrious stage. Fuck Green King and their small-thinking family-orientated wine-sipping cowards. Their beer tastes like farts, too.

We're playing the 2nd Stage at the Eastern Haze Festival on the Saturday (That's the 22nd of July). For more details about the whole event visit http://www.rickels.co.uk/easternhaze/index.php or go to the Darkside Forums and check it out there.

Finally, for now, we're headlining the August Rawkus Live at the Waterfront on the 8th. More details to follow, but you know it's going to be awesome...

Inevitable though it always was we now have a Myspace page. Come and be our friend at www.myspace.com/draglineband. Please...

Ooh Ooohh!!! NEW SONGS!!! We booked a six hour session with Errol at Plug to demo the two new songs and the results are, all things considered, awesome. We need to tidy them up a bit but, as soon as that's done, we'll stick them on the mp3's section.

There are now samples of the tracks from the new recording, tentatively titled "The Withered E.P.", in the mp3's section. Of the 4 tracks we've put 3 low quality samplers and one full track (space considerations stoped us putting more on). Enjoy.

Listen. Here's the thing. We've just played the gig with Ostracoda and last-minute bill-additions Black Tran Sister at the Ferryboat on the 21st. Gav (of Insaniac notioriety) and I (Jay, of Dragline) thought it would be a good idea to update the website under the influence of all things rock'n'roll (including a rather nice Shiraz and the Deftones B-sides and Rarities issuing). Here we go (wish us luck):

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the Marquee. The gig was awesome. BTS ruled and surprise guests Insaniac (for fucks sake!!) also ruled (it was kinda a duumvirate). More CD's given out. If you have one do give it a listen. If you don't, watch this space. It really is jolly good. Get one...

I have this tentative plan to put some lowbit-rate samplers from the still untitled e.p. (I think it will end up eponymous, but do mail us with suggestions) on the MP3's page. I may even give you 21st century broadband boys a full song. Yeah...

Watch this space...

(The above entry has been edited from the original version due to it being a load of old nonsense. Ah, rock 'n' roll...)

I am delirious to announce that the BTS/Dragline gig at the Marquee on the 3rd is free entry. That means that if you've spent your 3 or 4 pounds on pumpkins and unconvincing vampire teeth you now have no excuse. Be there or be somewhere quieter and less intense.

Gigs gigs and more gigs. Two gigs, in fact. Yes, TWO! Firstly, we will be playing the Marquee with the awesome Black Tran Sister on Thursday the 3rd of November. They're a piss-hot hybrid of early Stone Temple Pilots and Kyuss (to my ears, anyway). All fat bass and stoner groove. Last time they played the Marquee they were so hot the PA burst into flame. I shit you not.

Secondly, we'll be playing with the mighty Ostracoda, who need no introduction, at the Ferryboat on the 21st of November. It's a Monday. More details to follow.

24/10/2005

Yow! Full steam ahead, Carruthers! We have FINALLY got a mastered version of the as yet untitled e.p. in our hands. Anyone that was at the recent Marquee gig may already have a sneaky peeky version of it, but without any cover or packaging to speak of. We're terribly proud of it, and are now squeezing the precious little creative juices we have left from our spent bodies to come up with some artwork that will do it justice. We should have it sorted by the next gig. Probably.

20/09/2005

Another new date added to the gig section.

18 /09/2005

Mixing is now finally complete on the new EP so we will have more news on a release date and future plans. Hopefully lead to some shows out of town!! More news when we have it

19/03/2005

New date added to the gig section.

14/03/2005

We have booked a recording session with Lavar in the first week of April to record 3 of the most recent tracks. We are all very excited to be recording again and are looking forward to hearing what the new songs will sound like on tape. Its also going to be great to finally work with Lavar who we have known for along time. He is great producer and has done some amazing work with Kneehigh. Hopefully we should get some video footage and some still shots taken while we are there and will try and get some of those up on the site.

10/03/2005

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the ferryboat gig on Friday. We had an amazing night and it felt great playing live again. Also many thanks to all the other bands and mostly to Nina, who organised the whole event. The last I heard, we all managed to help raise over £1200 for tsunami charities. Well done everyone.

20/02/2005

Over the past 6 months there have been some changes within the band.

After 4 years Vikki decided to leave the band. We are all sad to see Vikki go and thank her for all the time and effort she put in over the years. Vikki was a founder member of the band and her fantastic ability both on the bass and vocally will be greatly missed.

Following Vikki's departure we have recruited an old friend and ex Profane bassist, Matt. We had planned to spend a few months auditioning and trying various bassists out but Matt was the first person to be recommended to us and was instantly the man for the job. We have spent the past few months teaching the various tunes to Matt and just recently writing new tunes. Now things have started to settle we are planning to go into the studio in the nest few months with Lavar, and record our first proper EP. More news on that as it happens.
